International Space Station!
Thanks to a post on a local Canberra forum I was made aware that the International Space Station (ISS) was going to fly right over the top of Canberra last Tue evening just after sunset. Sam was away in Sydney so the boys and I headed up to Mt Ainslie to see if we could spot it. If you think of how bright Venus is and try and imagine that zooming overhead at 28000km an hour that will give you some idea of what we saw! Apparently the night before some local boffins managed to zoom a telescope on to its flight path and see its solar sails. Some shots and a shaky video of the flyover are below.
