Noosa river cruise

We spend a spectacular day cruising the upper glades of the Noosa River and its surrounding lakes. The end of our journey brings us to Harry's Hut where we have a cool swim in the waters and enjoy lunch.

There's quite a difference between Harry's Hut and Richard Branson's island (which we pass). You can stay at Branson's place for $25,000 a week if you like (with all your guests).

The water is cold then hot then cold then hot...... delightfully refreshing. Later we discover it's full of catfish but they don't bother us while swimming.

 Back closer to Noosaville we saw an interesting take on the House Boat.

The beach is just over those hills.

 This is the journey we took.

 The lake is not very deep, less than half a metre in most places, and the trip takes a while

 The river is known for the amazing reflective qualities of the water - generated by the tea tree tannins leaching in the water.

 

 Some sabotage it is claimed has brought about this sinking. The captain says the locals don't like the people who live in the house boats.

 Someone has fallen asleep........

Not us - we finish the day wide awake......!  Highly recommended day trip.
