Trains and balloons

Yesterday morning the melodies of Hi-5 were interrupted by a short sharp burning sound - and we rushed outside to see a big red and black balloon drifting over our house - low enough to see the people in the basket quite clearly.

This morning nine balloons drifted over the house towards the centre of the city while Luke and Mummy slept in. Aaron took these shots but the sun wasn't shining brightly so they don't do them justice. It was Canberra's balloon festival this weekend. The big story in the local paper was how the Festival's expensive photography of the event was ruined by NSW's fire service burning off which put smoke in the area and wrecked it for all. Following the fires in Canberra, this is yet another example of how NSW Firies have no friends in ACT.

Well we all popped off to the 2007 Model Railway Expo at the Nation's hockey centre. The boys were fascinated by the miniature trains.
