The boy's trip to Brisbane

The boys and I drove mum's new car to Brisbane for the school holidays and a great time was had! It was lots of fun hanging out with all the relatives and the boys especially liked hanging out with their cousins at various places around Brisbane including Sea World. Some photo highlights below.

...and then visited Auntie Lyn at hospital and caught up
with Pat, Cath and his kids at Southbank. Tree climbing
was the order of the day which did not do much for dad's nerves
as the boys climbed higher and higher!

But alas we had to go home eventually! We drove via Toowoomba, the Siding Springs Observatory (near Coonabarabran) and the 'Dish' near Parkes. On the way up to Brisbane we also enjoyed a great night at Kyle and Karen's place (thanks for that guys!)

It was a good drive with not too many dramas (only an accident closing the Newell highway for a while, a hotel room mixup and trying to dodge lots of potholes). Must say driving Sam's new car for 3000km was pretty cool - very comfy, no gears to change and we only filled up with diesel 3 times for the whole trip with over a quarter of a tank left when we got back to Canberra!

coldest wind chill we have felt in a LONG time!

And it is only 444km from home! 

Does this 'Dish' look familiar? We visited on the 43rd
anniversary of it receiving the first signals from the moon.

Luke eventually dozed off on the long drive home...

And Sam's new car did attract some dirt (and stone chips!) and
some graffiti from.. I wonder who?
